I grew up under the wide open skies of the Texas Panhandle. I will always be a Panhandle girl in my heart.
I moved to beautiful Hunt, Texas about 15 years ago and that’s where I call home today with my husband Jimmy and my son Ruger.
I have loved to paint, doodle, draw flowers, and look for inspiration every single day for as long as I can remember.
I would say trips to Santa Fe, the mountains, fresh flowers, coffee shops and a really good flea market are the things that inspire me the most.
My journey as an artist has changed a lot though the years but what remains the same is my love for painting for others and hopefully spreading joy with everything I do.
Here are a few things in my life as far as a career that I have done that has led here! Sharing these few lines only to inspire and encourage you no matter where you are in life not to give up!!!
I tried being an art major at Abilene Christian University.. did not go well! I've worked at flower shops...overcome an alcohol addiction, and owned a vintage clothing boutique called AnnieCals. I have loved being a vendor at Fredericksburg Trade Days, had art studios in Kerrville and Ingram, been a vendor at 8th street market in comfort and many other shows around the Texas Hill Country. I have survived divorce, painted a lot of t-shirt designs- over 100- taught hundred of paint parties, led Paint and Praise events all over Texas. I am now married to the love of my life and I have had the joy of raising an incredible son and the joy of being a sports mom. I've played a lot of live music, written some songs.. was a vendor at Round Top one time, and somehow I painted a little flower mug that ended up in Buccees.
All of the things that I mentioned above are part of my “ bio” my story- and it is my honor to be able to share that with y ou.
I am so humbled by my redemption story and how God has allowed me to share my art with others in one form or another for so many years. I can not WAIT to see what the future holds!
So let me just encourage you to believe in the beauty of your dreams.. read your Bible, and don’t be afraid to hold onto joy and pain all at once.
Whether I am painting Christmas windows downtown Kerrville, painting trash cans, leading paint classes, leading worship, painting on jeans….coming up with a new fun holiday t-shirt or painting a little mug for Glory Haus... I just want it all to bring a little joy to someone’s day.
I am proud to say I design t-shirts for Texas True Threads, based out of Spearman Texas- my hometown - and that is I something that I absolutely love doing. I have been designing for them for 6 years. My favorite thing is seeing people I love in the t-shirts I painted, it’s so fun!
I also have the joy of being an artist for Glory Haus, which is a faith based home decor company ( and so much more ) based out of Marietta, GA.
Seeing my mugs in Buccess is a a result of working with this company and one of the highlights of my art career for sure.
All the pretty things- cute clothes- final products and projects are so fun- but what I want everyone to know at the end of day is that is without my Faith in Jesus and love and support from my family I wouldn’t be where I am today.
To God be the Glory, great things HE has done.
